潘特拉是来自德克萨斯州阿灵顿的美国重金属乐队。该小组由阿博特兄弟 - 鼓手Vinnie Paul和吉他手Dimebag Darrell以及主唱Terry Glaze于1981年组成。贝司手雷克斯布朗在第二年加入乐队，取代了非官方原创的汤米·布拉德福德。作为一个魅力金属乐队，Pantera在20世纪80年代发行了四张专辑。寻找新的和更沉重的声音，Pantera用Phil Anselmo在1986年底取代了Glaze，并在1988年发布了Power Metal。凭借其第五张专辑，1990年来自地狱的Cowboys，Pantera引入了沟槽金属音色。 Pantera的第六张专辑，1992年的粗俗电力显示器，表现出更沉重的声音。 Far Beyond Driven（1994）在Billboard 200上首次亮相。
