Anti-Flag在1988年由Justin Sane和Pat Thetic在他們的家鄉賓夕法尼亞州匹茲堡組成。
樂隊介紹

樂隊名字體現了兩個人在故鄉的經歷：Justin和Pat在參加當地hardcore演出的時候，經常看到身著印有美國國旗夾克的演出贊助商高呼「自由不等於法西斯」的口號，然而這些贊助商卻會常常參與打擊「反對派」的暴力活動。Justin和Pat看到了揮舞的美國國旗，同時也看到一個法西斯式的鎮壓工具。
1990年代

1993年，由於Andy Flag的加入，樂隊重新組合，Andy擔任當時樂隊的貝司手。1996年，樂隊在New Red Achives旗下錄製了第一張專輯，名為Die For The Government。由於Andy和Justin為私人問題的爭吵，專輯發布不久後，Andy Flag離開了樂隊。

1997年，音樂人Chris Head接替了Andy貝司手職位。Jamie Cock在98年加入，成為新的貝司手，Chris隨之擔任了樂隊第二吉他手。1999年Jamie Cock被新入隊的Chris Barker代替，形成了樂隊現在的陣容。

同年，Anti-Flag在Go-Kart Records/A-F Records發行了專輯A New Kind of Army（A-F Records為Anti-Flag個人旗下錄音室）。此專輯反映了種族歧視，法西斯主義以及問題青年與警察間的暴力衝突等問題。展開專輯封面便得到一張標有「Too smart to fight. Too smart to kill. Join now. A new kind of army.」字樣的海報。
2000年以後

2000年，Anti-Flag應邀參加Vans Warped Tour（極限運動音樂節）。在此期間，樂隊成員結識了擁有Fat Wreck Chords錄音室的大牌朋克明星Fat Mike（NOFX樂隊主唱）。這次邂逅產生的友誼，孕育出Anti-Flag在Fat Wreck Chords旗下的兩張專輯。

2001年，樂隊專輯Underground Network在Fat Wreck Chords的發行，引起了人們對Anti-Flag從hardcore underground轉型到mainsream（主流）的爭議。這張專輯再次發起了對法西斯主義（確切的講是新納粹主義滲透中的「hardcore scene」）和美國對外方針的爭論。它是當時第一個帶有來自歷史政治家散文的小冊子，最著名的有Howard Zinn教授。

2002年，Anti-Flag在A-F Rocords旗下發行了Mobilize.這張專輯中的新歌以及來自其他專輯歌曲的現場版都非常有特色。當美國被911恐怖事件驚醒後，Anti-Flag大膽的批露美國政府的戰爭激流，在此期間，很多音像店把Anti-Flag的唱片從架子上取下來，仿佛他們的音樂是在「反美」。

2003年，樂隊發行唱片The Terror State。此唱片主要聚焦於對Bush政府處理「反恐怖襲擊事件」的批判。另外，唱片還夾帶了一個帶有樂隊政治觀點的小冊子。這張專輯包括一首由Woody Guthrie作詞的歌曲「Post-War Breakout」。由於Guthrie從來沒有創作過曲，所以譜曲部分由Anti-Flag成員完成。而且，第一版唱片中包括一首名為「Fuck the Flag」的附加歌曲。

2004年10月8日，美國眾議員Jim Mcdermott在眾議院作演講時讚揚了Anti-Flag，高度評價了樂隊為鼓勵青年人投票而做出的努力。

2005年Anti-Flag與RCA（BMG公司）錄音室簽下兩張唱片錄製的合同。其中的For blood and Empire發行於2006年3月21日。該專輯主要批判了美國政府對恐怖襲擊事件採取的不正確行動。其中歌曲「This is the end(For You My Frend)」被用於「Madden NFL 2007」和「NHL 07」兩個遊戲中。

貫穿Anti-Flag的事業，很多其他樂隊相繼加入A-F Records錄音室，其中包括'The code','Much the Same','The Vacancy','The Unseen'等。
